Getting Started

Housing Accommodations:

To request a housing accommodation for the 2019-2020 academic year please submit medical documentation from an appropriate medical professional to Scott Howland, Program Coordinator.

The documentation must be typed on the doctor's letterhead and contain the following information:

  • clearly stated medical diagnosis
  • symptoms caused by the medical condition
  • the housing accommodations that are medically necessary based on the diagnosed condition

The letter or medical documentation can be emailed directly to Scott Howland (showland@nd.edu) or faxed to 574-631-2133.

The student must also email Scott Howland and state the specific housing accommodations they are requesting.

The medical documentation and email stating the specific housing accommodations requested must be received by the follwing dates:

  • First year students enrolling for the fall 2019 semester - June 1, 2019
  • Transfer or readmitted students enrolling for the fall 2019 - July 1, 2019

Additional information about the Housing Accommodation Process can be found here: https://sarabeadisabilityservices.nd.edu/policies/housing-accommodations-process/

Academic and other Accommodations:

If you are a new student to Notre Dame and would like to become registered with Sara Bea Disability Services, the first step is to submit appropriate documentation to verify the disability and support the accommodations you would like to request.  To finalize your registration it is necessary for you to meet with a member of the Sara Bea staff to discuss your documentation and how approved accommodations will be implemented.

Documentation can be sent to showland@nd.edu or faxed to 574-631-2133.

If you have questions please contact Scott Howland at showland@nd.edu.
